CareFirst Sales Enablement Data Analytics Manager (Hybrid) in Baltimore, Maryland

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the Sales Enablement Manager and Network Data Analytics is to execute on business objectives with data and to ensure alignment with the vision of the Network Innovation and Strategy team (the business). The Manager will work across two high profile divisions driving membership growth through Sales-specific data requests with a focus on delivering accurate, market-leading value statements and client satisfaction. The Manager will be on the Value and Sales Enablement team in Health Services Division and work directly with Account Executives, Consultants and the New Business teams in the Sales Division and may be account, broker, and/or consultant facing when needed to support the acquisition of new and renewal business. This individual will be responsible for organizing the technology, processes, associates, and financial resources necessary to address the current and future Sales enablement analytics needs of the business and market with a focus in commercial and Medicare Advantage markets. Provides thought leadership and acts as a subject matter expert in the designing and recommending of appropriate analytical approaches and methodologies. Provides management responsibility into data-driven insights that inform the business's strategic direction. Strong communication skills will be needed to guide stakeholders through key decisions, communicate and coordinate activities internally and across departments. Facilitation of process improvement and identification and articulation of stakeholder needs will be essential to drive strategies and maximize outcomes related to ROI, customer satisfaction, and organizational metrics and performance. This manager will lead a team of 4-6 FTEs.

Note: We are looking for an experienced people leader in the greater Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area who is willing and able to work in a hybrid model. The incumbent will be expected to work a portion of their week from home and at least two days a week at a CareFirst location based on business needs and work activities/deliverables that week

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage a team of 4-6 FTEs with a focus on the development of analytics capabilities and Sales Enablement reporting, including self-service capabilities through technology implementation, best practices and training. Ensure team members serve as a trusted advisor to new business, renewal, and account management teams. Understands market-specific requirements, willing to gain deep knowledge of BCBSA, Health Services local and national network and medical management programs in order to offer analytic support throughout new business acquisition process. Partners with competitive intelligence teams to ensure positioning of Health Services programs and in line with market expectations.

  • Develop and deliver presentations and reports of analytic findings to enable Sales. Creates data-driven recommendations and present to leadership. Organizes data across all lines of business to support sales, business development opportunities, product development and clinical program value statements. Leverages industry knowledge to interpret data and present recommendations on account requests. Partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and with internal and/or external resources to develop tools and services such as network disruption technology, geoaccess tools, network benchmarking and discount software, and clinical program. Oversees vendor contracts and implementation of tools needed to support network analytics work.

  • Develop analytic frameworks and select appropriate analytic methods to answer Sales enablement questions such as customized medical management programs or specific network development requests. Serve as subject matter expert on these tools with broker, consultant, and internal Sales communities. Develop standardized processes related to data requests to support the business. Drive specific analytics programs around health plan performance that become market-facing sales tools including, but not limited to, Uniform Discount and Data Specification network discount position, Geo access reporting, Network Disruption reporting, and other Network comparison tools.

  • Develop hypotheses and research questions to address clients' needs. Conduct a wide range of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods analyses to answer clients' research questions. Work with Director on leveraging data to monitor and track departmental goals.

  • Uses multiple data sets to create reports and data presentations, and eventually creating data dashboards, for leadership and managerial use. Responsive to ad hoc large and national account requests pertaining to network and medical management issues. Monitors adequacy and utilization of CareFirsts Sales Enablement tools across commercial and Medicare Advantage lines of business. Ensure network and medical management programs promised during Sales process make it to implementation process successfully for new and renewal business.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Licenses/Certifications:

Data Management\Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) Upon Hire Preferred or Data Management\MapR Certified Data Analyst Upon Hire Preferred.

Experience:

  • 5 years Progressive experience relating to data analytics/data analysis.

  • 1-year Supervisory experience or demonstrated progressive experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master'sDegree

  • Experience with provider network management and/or health plan product structure.

  • Conceptual data and cloud architecture - understands major native data components in Azure and/or AWS and there relationships and use cases.

  • Mastery of relational database theory include SQL and at least one major RDBMS.

  • Well versed inBigDatascenariosandapplications.

  • Experience with multiple analytics delivery tools, methods, and platforms including PowerBI and/or Tableau.

  • UnderstandingofAdvancedAnalytics usecasesandtheapplicationsofAI/MLforpredictiveanalytics.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative skills.

  • Knowledge and understanding of analytical tools, such as SAS, Excel, SQL.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Ability to train others.

  • Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.

Salary Range: $124,240 - $230,621

This compensation range is specific and considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilites of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market and business consideration.
